Individual therapy
1.1.Initial Consultation
When beginning therapy, an initial consultation is required which involves background information being gathered, identifying an individual's strengths and challenges, and the setting of individualised therapy goals. You may be asked to complete some brief questionnaires as part of this session so will be asked to arrive 10-15 minutes early (or these can often be emailed before the session).

1.2.Ongoing Sessions
Therapy sessions provide ongoing support for children, adolescents and adults and/or family members. The purpose of therapy is to understand and embrace the unique needs, strengths and challenges of the individual and to build their life skills and functioning.
Examples of therapy goals may include:
-
insight and management of emotions including anxiety, anger and depression
-
managing executive functioning challenges
-
managing patterns of avoidance or challenging behaviours
-
self-awareness, self-esteem and self-identity
-
improved ability to form and maintain relationships
-
managing school problems including bullying, school attendance difficulties, and managing barriers to accessing school curriculum
-
family education and support

Most 60 minute sessions are broken down into 50 minutes of active therapy and 10 minutes of administration (note taking).

1.3.Telehealth Therapy
Online (telehealth) sessions are available to those who may find it difficult to attend sessions face-to-face. This depends on client presentation. Once your appointment is confirmed, a separate online consent form and instructions for accessing the online session will be sent to you.

Assessments - neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments
I provide assessment for neurodevelopmental conditions (including Autism Spectrum Conditions, ADHD) for all ages and genders, using gold standard assessment tools including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-- Revised.

My assessments are sensitive to girls and women, who often go undiagnosed because their symptoms present more subtly (or are complicated by other factors such as masking) to the more traditionally recognised characteristics of ASCs in males.

Child and adolescent assessments come with written reports. Adult assessment reports can be requested for specific purposes (e.g., self-understanding, workplace recommendations etc). Reports can be used to support an application for NDIS funding (where applicable) and separate NDIS reports (initial and reviews) can be written for existing therapy clients.
3
Clinical Supervision
I am approved by the Psychology Board of Australia to provide clinical supervision and have supervised Masters students on placement, clinical psychology registrars for their registrar program and clinical psychologists.
4
Problem Solving Session (one-off)
Problem solving sessions are offered to individuals and families who are beginning to question or are experiencing difficulties that they would like assistance with. Problems are explored and information and advice is provided where possible. This may include recommendations, referrals or ongoing therapy.
